Its our
heritage and we tend to remember our national masters of art.
Implementing
different kind of art as a commemorative landmarks in the history of our nation.
This extract
contains a short biographical summary of Alfonsas
Budvytis(1949-2003)
Who was born in a small Lithuanian village Balsenai
(1949). Most of his childhood he
spent together with his beloved
grandparents as his own parents
were exiled
to Siberia soon after his birth. Alfonsas has overcome that destiny and stayed in Lithuania just by the
miracle.
He
became thrilled with photography got involved in photo club, since he
was a school student . To encourage himself better and more extensively
with photography he started the photography art in early 80's after getting
pharmacy degree and marriage.
In 1979 he became a member of Lithuanian
Photographers Union and started his professional photographer
career.
By working with the credo "If you
are doing something do it at most, or don't do it at all, that at the point you put your fist against
the table, in this case, everybody will shut up."
His photos
distinguish expressiveness and novation. Most of his pictures are not the pictures
in the used meaning which indicates only a reflection
of the reality because he is not a
chronographer of the nature but a creator
as far as the nature is only a
background for his
own ideas.
Portraying the life in his
pictures he pretends to deeply feel pain and compassion, splendid and luxurious,
making up a specific pattern of sound both pathetic and hilarious, that
transcribes the mood.
The creative endeavourer he
experienced was revolutionary in the photo art all along with seeking and inventing
something new.
Alfonsas put his authors
contributions not only in Lithuania but in the world photography as well by his
great character and persistence.
The most outstanding pictures of
his we arranged in the chronological orders: 1984 "Ward No 7", 1986
"Fashion", "Vietnam", 1988 "Lithuanian
villages",1990 "Vilnius Signs", 1991
"Silent Nature" . The success was rewarded his
efforts in 2002 according to his photo art merits
by a premium of
the Lithuanian State.
Unfortunately for the
development of our culture this remarkable photographer died at
the age of 55 in the tragic accident.
Nothing yet has been done to immortalized his memory, but
certain measures are taken now and looking forth and hoping much
for both financial and emotional support from us and possibly,
from the public around.
In the loving memory of my father.
